Maldivian History: A drop in the Indian Ocean

We have invited Maldivian historians including former President and author Mohamed Nasheed, scholar Xavier Romero-Frias and research analyst Alaa Didi to attend a conference where they will present their scholarly work and discuss their expertise in different eras of Maldivian history. The intended aim for the conference is to address the dearth of material from Maldivian historians and create space for the Maldives in the global and imperial history discourse.

Mohamed Nasheed: Former President of Maldives and author of Dhe Radhun 1800-1900

Xavier Romero-Frias: Scholar and author of The Maldive Islanders and Folk Tales of the Maldives
