Oxford is home to one of the largest concentrations in the world of historians with interests in global history. Housed in the History Faculty, the Oxford Centre for Global History also incorporates scholars in related institutions such as the Oriental Institute, Classics and Ancient History, the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, and Area Studies such as the African Studies Centre, the Latin American Centre, the Nissan Institute of Japanese Studies, Middle East Studies, and South Asian Studies.
